"Their faces contorted with hate." Is the opening line to appallingly inconsistent article written by Steve Jones in today's Sunday Mercury.
This is the typical media view of a young person with an ounce of melanin in today's society. However what is frequently overlooked is at these faces that are apparently contorted with hate, are actually contorted with frustration. These are images of a young survivor of lifelong institutional racism which is a part of the fabric of good old Blighty!
The media deem every act of violence that takes place in Birmingham is somehow connected to the Johnson or Burger Bar Crew. And through several degrees of seperation they somehow manage to attach the story to the fatal muders of Letisha and Charlene.
The underlying covert mechanics of the media hold young black boys in a stagnate position in society. Unfortunately a lot of 'Urban Youth' believe this self fulfilling prophecy and therefore act their lives as if on the, 'Truman Show' reciting these harmful scripts line for line!
Ok so back to the article.. Let's look at this apparent feud between each gang member being some kinda plight to gain popularity within the music industry. I will allow you a few seconds to think of an MC who is a member of the JC or BBC who PA's abroad, up and down the country, or even leaves the ends to go chip shop... #PAUSE
No person is stupid enough to believe that through gang affiliation they would be able to make it into the music industry, unless their a free mason.. But we are talking small fry here. That's a next blog.. Lol!
Jones also talks about this alleged 'insider' who speaks about what the 'cops' #PAUSE <------ who says that this side of the Atlantic.. I sense either some severe mis-quotation or propaganda going on here.. Journalists that try to re-create the terminology apparently used in the hood, are effectively 'parring' themselves so to speak.
I could write about this bullshit article all day, but I have dumplings to fry so I will leave you with this..
In order for young people to progress within today's society they need to gain a sense of self! Know thyself, know where you came from and exactly where you are going.. Until this happens, articles like this one will keep you mentally chained, these 'scripts' will keep being written. And young people will keep reciting them line for line. Not to get too Afro Centric on this glorious Sunday afternoon, but this whole black on black crime thing is DEAD! I leave you with a classic Erykah Badu lyric..
"What if there were no nigga's only master teachers? I stay woke!"

THE BLACK MANS' RELATIONSHIP PLEDGE TO THE BLACK WOMAN
I just remebered this note and thought that I would post it to get your opinions. Does this man exist? I've given up hope personally. But I also think that some of the points that he makes are impossible to do.. Just my humble opinion but I do not want to influence yours... Also why is this from a Black Man to a Black Woman is this how a man should treat a woman regardless of colour. Or have we gotten to the point now where this needs to be defined because Black men are sooooo confused about this.. lol i dunno..Go ahead and state your thoughts.
Peace
THE BLACK MANS' RELATIONSHIP PLEDGE TO THE BLACK WOMAN
The Black Man's Relationship Pledge to Black Women is a list of values, principles, actions and mindsets that we Black males must have in order to evolve into Black Men as mates for our Black sisters. This is to build healthy relationships with our Black Women and to fulfill our roles as fathers and husbands in functional, complete Black families, or to simply build healthy interactions with any sista on any level.--
I will have integrity in every dealing with my Black sistas and not lie nor hide anything. --
I will not physically abuse any sista in anyway. Also I will not mentally or emotionally abuse my Black woman.--
I will respect and revere Black womanhood and never call sisters "bitch", "ho" or any vulgar name.--
I will value the children of my Black woman and treat them with love, respect, nurturing and be a positive role model for any child of a sister.--
I will not brutally or harshly correct my Black woman and disrespect her intelligence. If she needs it, I will be a comforting and patient teacher and or healer.--
I will do everything I need to enhance and improve the spiritual, physical and mental health of me and my Black woman.--
I will not talk shit about my Black woman behind her back, tearing her down to other people then smiling to her face. I will also not disrespect my Black woman in public nor in private.--
I will not run from the responsibilities of raising OUR child if my Black woman becomes pregnant by me.--
I will protect Black women from the evils of this world. I AM NOT a knight in shining armor, I am the powerful Kemetic God HeruKhuti and I will smash and burn any and everything that threatens the life of my Black woman. However, I will use discretion and reasoning when dealing out ass whoopings and destruction. I will also not put my Black woman in any danger.--
I will not hide my feelings from my Black woman, I will communicate properly and intelligibly in order to bring about an understanding between us. A healthy expression of emotion is not a sign of weakness in a man.--
I will not undermine or underestimate the worth and essence of the Black woman. I will eradicate any and all forms of sexism, chauvanism and mysogyny within me. Thus I will listen to my Black woman when she has something to say and I will not have any problem at all with my (or any) Black woman taking the lead in whatever she needs to take the lead in. –
I will not be manipulative towards Black women. I will not lie or brag about my unproven, alleged sexual prowess to Black women. As a "conscious" brotha, I will not use knowledge as mack to have sex with sisters. Nor will I manipulate sisters in any act of deceit or harmful way for my own carnal gratification. --
I am NOT a "playa", "mack" or a "pimp". These things, especially a pimp, are as much a disrespect of myself as a Black man as well as disrespectful towards my Black Woman.--
I will be responsible and admit my negativity, if I fuck up, I'll admit it and I will not avoid critique and or correction from my Black woman. Apologies are NOT the sign of weakness in a man.--
I will comfort my Black woman when she is down, upset, angry, saddened or physically ill. I will empathize with her and be her rock or pillow to make sure she gets through her down period. And speaking of periods....--
I will not ridicule or belittle my Black woman when she is going through her natural monthly elimination state. Nor will I use her menstrual cycle as an excuse for her behaviour I deem as an inconvenience to me.--
I will not objectify my Black woman, I will value her entire essence. I will not just see her as a sex object nor will I use european standards in relating to my Black woman.--
I will marvel at the physical beauty of the Black woman. The big sisters and the thinner ones, the dark skinned sisters and the lighter sisters etc. Even though beauty is based on the individual, all Black women in all their physical forms have beauty. --
I will control and eradicate any mental or emotional shortcomings. I will not be jealous, selfish, moody, possesive, have anger issues or any other disorder towards my Black woman.--
I will not compete against my Black woman for our relationship is not a game or a contest.--
I will work with my Black woman in a cooperative nature to accomplish goals we need to conquer together. We are a partnership.--
I will do my very best to satisfy my Black woman sexually. I will learn her entire body and pleasure her in any (healthy) way possible. I will also learn the ways of sex, also knowing the difference between sex and intimacy. And If I don't know how to do any of that.....I will learn and be patient as my Black woman will teach me.

Act like a Lady think Like a Man
As I sit at work with minimal tasks to do certain issues always seem to frequent my mind. And since I am a female who loves Black men a lot of the time it seems to be about them. Or lack of them (lol.)
Now before you think that I am a man hater and out to degrade and dehumanise the male species through my biased female P.O.V. This is an actual genuine attempt to understand them. I can already hear the men exhaling at their desks but bracing themselves for what they are about too read..
I recently read a book entilted, "Act Like a lady think like a Man," by the well known comedian Steve Harvey. Through his book he claims to provide an insight into the male pshcye. And a particular point that stuck out to me was,
"No matter if a man is a CEO, a CON, or both everything he does is filtered trhough his title (who he is) how he gets that title (what he does), and the reward he gets for the effort (how much he makes). These three things make up the basis DNA of manhood- three accomplishments every man must achieve before he feels like he's truly fulfilles his destiny as a man. And until he's achieved his goal in those three areas, the man your're dating, commited to, or married to will be too busy to focus on you."
Wow after reading this I felt like I had been to church. Lol.. I has never heard the word preached so true and in its purest form before as Steve Harvey put it.
All past relationships/near misses of relationships all made sense. The majority of Black men in my age group 20-25 do not seem to have any one of these three things down. However they constantly try to avoid dealing with them by chirpsing every gyal on road and trying to find a wifey. Ladies beware of this.. If a man is still looking for a path, a direction, does not know what he wants to do with his life, or whatever then he has no need for you whatsoever.
As my mind keeps on ticking over with the what if's and maybe's of this new found enlightenment I will be sure to update this blog and share my words and thoughts as a woman..
